Superman Man of steel by CyrilT Superman Man of steel by CyrilT
In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, but in my opinion is too perfect, he haven't a dark side (like batman) ... So I wanted to creat a darker vision a nervous character, a restive superman.
I tried to bring this vision in my stuff and make a image with an impressive superman who become dangerous and uncontrollable.I think that the DC Universe Online cinematic trailer made by blur influenced me.
I hope that the next Superman "Superman man of steel " directed by Zack Snyder will be more darker, with a character more ambiguous.
I hope you'll like it

DARKER than Man of Steel? well, everyone is entitled to their opinions, I suppose. mine is that DC's characters STAND for something and the way they keep exploiting their edginess and destructive potential is turning them into something dangerously close to antiheroes, which would be a shame if my kids can't grow up with Batman or Superman as role models.

That being said, this art kicks all kind of butt. it looks like he's using the new power he's been given, even using some kind of high-kinetic-energy output as a form of telekinesis. if not darker, it would be legit awesome to see this in a film; if not as a darker superman, a superman with his powers fully-realized, like a superman unleashed kinda thing.

This isn't Superman. It's a villain with elemental powers wearing a rented Superman costume. The real Superman should be kicking his ass shortly.

I have to say, in watching all of the episodes of "Superman: The Animated Series", "Justice League/Unlimited", the "Batman/Superman: Apocalypse", "Superman vs. The Elite" and "All-star Superman" movies, I can say the reason he doesn't go bad is because of his raising. His parents taught him right and showed him why good is better than evil, that you don't have to kill to stop evil. Now, I won't claim to know everything because I haven't been able to get my hands on the original comics, but I can relate to the fact that he was raised to know better than to kill.

False: Superman is (typically) a gentle man, but he kills people very often. However, he never does ANYTHING without a moral justification, killing included. To prove it:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_N4P6…
www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaETnj…

^ Those two link to video montages of Superman's various killings, all of which were either self-defense or defense of others.

img.gawkerassets.com/img/18tfu… - Superman executes General Zod and his followers, in an alternate universe.

imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img33… - Superman kills the Zod from his own universe, by breaking his neck.

fc05.deviantart.net/fs71/f/201… - From the DC universe online trailer. Superman kills a villain for helping to cause massive destruction.

3.bp.blogspot.com/_fKWKPyvht7g… - Refuses to save a murderer

3.bp.blogspot.com/_FPAetrvLhD4… - A clearly angered Superman uses psychological torture on a clearly terrified criminal by putting him directly in harms way, and strongly implies that if anything happens to go wrong, he'll just let the criminal die. Batman didn't approve, but seeing that Batman lets the Joker live, I couldn't care less about his opinions if I tried.

images.fandango.com/MDCsite/im… - Lets a criminal die accidentally, by his own poison.

static.comicvine.com/uploads/o… - Here, Superman saves some crooks from exactly the same fate, but only to smooth over his relationship to the police, not because he thinks they deserve to live.

crisisonearthprime.blogspot.co… - Superman kills the Anti-Monitor.

Simply put: “There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.”

Woooooow. One, those videos have no context, I have seen most of those animated scenes and they have NO context whatsoever.
-Solaris was an AI.
-Doomsday in the animated series was actually lobotomized and his brain grew back, so the JUSTICE LORDS Superman killed him.
-In Superman: Doomsday he killed him because there was no other way to stop him, also nearly dying in the process and Doomsday can bring himself back from the dead as many times as he wants.
-Smallville messed up in alot of areas.
-DCUO was end-game, it also doesn't show Superman kill anybody directly, Adam just had heat vision in the face which we know he can survive normally because of his SHAZAM powers.
-In the Golden Age cartoon I didn't see him kill anyone, just beat the ever-loving out of them.
-And the GA comic, those panels left out what happens next, so you can't use them. And in the gas one he CLEARLY states he's taking them to the police beforehand, he makes the comment about them not deserving to be saved, but plenty of people do that, he is only human and humans say things they don't mean when they're angry.
-Zod was a last-ditch effort in the comics, he had no way to stop him otherwise, however afterwards he vows that he has too much power to play judge-jury-executioner.
-And as for the 'psychological torture', he holds the man in the air, he can catch him before he realizes he fell, there is really no danger to the man. Batman uses the same thing on ALOT of criminals, going so far as to let them drop and only catching them at the last second.

All you are doing is trying to make excuses to ignore the facts: your replies are a very awkward mix of obvious denial, like your claim:

"In the Golden Age cartoon I didn't see him kill anyone, just beat the ever-loving out of them."

In addition to this:

"And the GA comic, those panels left out what happens next, so you can't use them."

What happened next, is he died. Superman left, with the words "one less vulture".

"DCUO was end-game, it also doesn't show Superman kill anybody directly, Adam just had heat vision in the face which we know he can survive normally because of his SHAZAM powers."

Adam never got back up. Superman also broke his wrist before the heat-vision, effortlessly, so the "invulnerability card" is not usable here.

"And as for the 'psychological torture', he holds the man in the air, he can catch him before he realizes he fell, there is really no danger to the man. Batman uses the same thing on ALOT of criminals"

Batman uses psychological torture as his main weapon, knucklehead: what Superman does there is no different. Batman has also occasionally killed the people he was scaring, deliberately, just because he didn't like them personally.

I'm not going to spend hours directly debunking all of your straw-grabbing suppositions, so don't expect me to. Just know that you look like a complete fool, mucking about for reasons to ignore what you're seeing. You didn't even try to say that Superman didn't actually kill Darkseid's army: because you can see dozens of them being instantly vaporized by heat-vision: they are sapient aliens, not robots.  Do the math.

yes really surprise to see some things in common, I have  heard and saw so many comments that's "Superman is not Dragon Ball", that's Superman can't be ambigious ... so it was cool to see sometime things like that in the movie ! I like this Superman I think he's putting some good basis of a great new universe, and I'm curious to see the sequel !!!

While the Superman in Man of Steel isn't really too dark, he does let loose quite a bit in the film, which is quite a nice change in comparison to the usual reserved Superman.
